What Is the Process When Receiving Garnishment Papers via the U.S. Mail?
I am and have been trying to get information about papers I received in the mail from the courts stating that “an order on motion to set aside order for installment payments” is granted and a writ of garnishment MAY issue. Before I could get papers filled out for “a motion for installment payments” request, my bank account was cleaned out. I did not get any further papers telling me that the writ was ordered and if it was for periodic or non-periodic payments. Does anyone know if I should have received notification of that and can give me further direction.

First off the bank was required to comply with garnishment papers served to them.
Next: If you have direct deposit, you need to stop that NOW or the next deposit will get sucked dry. Not saying you shouldn’t pay what you owe, but it’s my position that people should at least have money for groceries and garnishments don’t see it that way.
yes you are missing some paper work like how much they are garnishing your paycheck for — they can take up to 25% !!! i would contact the county clerk and seek the rest of the paper work!!!
