What You Absolutely Must Know If You Owe A Judgment in Texas

What You Absolutely Must Know if You Owe a Judgment in Texas

Since starting the Texas Judgment Collection Center in 2007, I’ve gotten a lot of email asking for more information to help judgment debtors understand the Texas judgment collection process.  In response to those emails, I’ve released this Special Report, What You Absolutely Must Know If You Owe A Judgment in Texas.

This report analyzes all of the questions I’ve received and groups them into eleven main questions.  I then answer those questions in an easy to read format and in PLAIN ENGLISH.  I also give you the legal citations so you can look up the authority for the answers given (if you’re so inclined).

This Special Report applies to judgment from any Texas court, including Small Claims Court, Justice Court, County Court and District Court.  So, if you owe a judgment issued by any Texas court and you’ve had any of the following questions, this Special Report is for you.

  1. How long will a Texas judgment against me stay in effect?
  2. Will the Court garnish my ?
  3. Will I lose my home?
  4. Will the Court seize my retirement accounts?
  5. Will the Court seize my checking account, savings account or other bank accounts?
  6. Can I sell my home without paying the judgment against me?
  7. Can the judgment owner put a lien on my home?
  8. Can the judgment owner seize my other real estate?
  9. Can the judgment owner seize my IRS refund?
  10. Can I still settle with the judgment owner after the Court awards a judgment?
  11. What documents do I need to get from the judgment owner when I pay the judgment in full?
